Great full acoustic set by Michael Franti
I saw the San Diego, CA stop of his "I Know I am not alone" film / music tour this last thursday. It was really great he did a Q&A after each showing and then did an acoustic performance as well. I didn't record my concert, but this recording had a similar vibe and setlist to the one I was at. Really great long show (1hr 38 min) of just fun acoustic Michael Franti music. Real get your feet moving songs as well as quiet introspective songs. 'is your love enough' is great. spine tingling! and 'East to West' was great. and for 'sometimes' he pulls out a dude from the crowd to do the guitar work. This isn't as noticable on the recording (he doesn't say anything about it) but you can tell from the crowd's reaction and Jas left a review here saying that he did it. Cool stuff! Thanks Michael for a great night. This was the first time I got to see you live in person. A great recording from the audience this one is. Stream it right now to have a cozy saturday morning with your tea and toast on a cloudy rainy day like I just did.

Magic!
I was fortunate enough to attend this concert a few weeks earlier in Boulder, CO. Michael is simply one of the most amazing people on the planet! I was psyched to see someone recorded this powerful acoustic set. One of the best shows ever! This is a great recording and I agree, it had to be recorded from the audience. Great Energy. Power to the peaceful!

Is your Love Enough? Great Show and some other reccomendations
This is a fantastic show. Big thanks to Mike Train for the wonderful recording. I am usually a soundboard snob but I can't imagine that the board would capture the magic of this concert.
The crowd is amazing. Hearing them sing along is really wonderful. It is a very nice recording.
This show was played following a screening of "I Know I'm Not Alone" Michaels documentary film about his journey to Iraq.

I streamed this show this morning and it is wonderful sunday morning listening. I think this is the best of the acoustic sets forllowing the movie screenings that I have heard. "East to West" and "Is your love enough" are real highlights for me. This is pure acoustic Franti. I also really enjoy "Cleanup Man" and "One Step Closer" a song deadicated to Marla Ruzicka (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ruzicka)
D2T2 is incorrectly named. The song is "In the Light" It was played for a while in 8/2002 and then not again until this movie tour.
Hearing michael talk is always a real treat. I loved his discussion of the old punk rock days and playing with DOA (joey shithead rules - I used to love DOA True North Strong and Free!) and I also loved hearing him talk about Charlie Hunter.
Check out Michael and Charlie in DHOH

I'm the guitar player
Hi,
My name is Jas - not "Josh". Michael asked my name after I played and I guess he didn't hear me correctly. In any case, it was a total rush to get up and play with one musical idols! I still can believe I was able to get up on stage like that to jam with him. What a cool guy to just let anyone get up and jam like that!!
For anyone who might actually care, I'm a local singer/songwriter in Toronto, and I'm putting together a new group to support my near completed CD. So far, I have a great guitar player, but I'm looking for a drummer and bassist. You can have a listen to a rough mix of one song at www.soundclick.com/jasonline
By the way, I didn't even realize I was jamming with a guy from the New Deal on percussion. Now those guys are completely amazing. I highly recommened going to see them play live if you have a chance! If you are looking play, please drop me a line at: jasmusic@excite.com
cheers!
